Andharban, meaning “Dark Forest”, is a scenic forest and valley trek in the Sahyadri region near Pimpri and Tamhini Ghat. The route passes through dense forest, streams, waterfalls and green valley landscapes before descending toward the Bhira Dam backwaters. Maharashtra Tourism describes it as a distinctive descending trek through dense forest with views toward Kundalika Valley.
The trek is particularly attractive during the monsoon, when the forest becomes lush and seasonal waterfalls and streams add to the landscape. The broader route is about 13 km according to the current trek information.

Important visitor information: Current Forest Department booking information states that visitors must have a booking receipt and matching government ID, a trained guide is mandatory, and only visitors aged 16 and above are permitted. The currently published Forest Department information also states that only a limited section of the route is open to tourists, so visitors should check the official booking/access status immediately before travelling
